CodeKeep Blog: Breaking Changes Coming

I've been hard at work the last few weeks working on a lot of improvements to the CodeKeep site, both internally for things you won't notice and externally for things you will (such as the shiny new UI).

However, some of the changes *will* break the current add-ins, both the VS.NET 2003 version and the VS 2005 version. I was hoping to push out the web site changes without having to release new versions of the add-ins, but it just isn't going to work out that way. There are some things I can keep around for backwards compatibility, but it's not enough to ensure a smooth transition.

The main problem I face is specifically the VS.NET 2003 add-in. I decided a long time ago that it will not be maintained, but I was really referring to no new enhancements, not necessarily letting it completely die, which unfortunately is what will happen with these changes.

Users of the VS 2005 add-in will have to endure the minor nuisance of downloading and installing the latest version (when it is ready), but once these changes get pushed out in the next few days, the VS.NET 2003 add-in will officially cease to ever work again.

If you have major gripes about this, feel free to use the feedback form and let me know about it.
